Most of the results are posted for the ARRL DX Phone Contest. Conditions were a mixed bag, but when conditions were good, they were really fun! Otherwise, everyone got their fair share of PY’s & LU’s!!
We had some great multi-op efforts from Bill, AC0W, at PJ4G, and Dan, WØCN, operating from J62K! It was fun to listen to the incredible rates in the pile-ups! Great job guys! There were some very good efforts from the Black hole! Pat, WØBM, piloted his station to a club-high 806,000 points! Vince, KØSIX, also took his score over the 500k mark! WIth low power, NØHJZ, KØEA and AAØAW all scored over a quarter million points! That’s a lot of LU’s and PY’s!!
Our club score was down significantly this year. Mostly due to conditions, but the number of MWA stations was down as well. Our total score of 8,442,160 points was down 47.29% from last year. Ouch!
The team competition was won, for the fifth time, by Team 4! Their
three-million point score outpaced the other teams! Team 5 was a close
second. Here are the team results:
- Team 4 – 3,053,337 Points – 5 Points
- Team 5 – 2,454,660 Points – 4 Points
- Team 1 – 1,108, 299 Points – 3 Points
- Team 2 – 972,820 Points – 2 Points
- Team 3 – 853,044 Points – 1 Point
With two events to go in the contest season, Team 5 looks like the potential club winning team. They now hold a six point lead with two events left. Team 4 needs to pick up seven points to win. Here are the point totals:
- Team 5 – 63 Points
- Team 4 – 57 Points
- Team 3 – 48 Points
- Team 2 – 30 Points
- Team 1 – 27 Points
Our next official event is the CQ WPX Phone Contest at the end of the month. This weekend is the Wisconsin QSO Party and a chance to work all our fellow MWA’ers who operate from Wisconsin. Good luck to everyone this weekend and in the WPX at the end of the month!
