Club Competition Update

Can you believe that we’ve already finished 14 events in our contest season?! It seems like the older I get, the contest seasons move. One thing I’ve been trying to do is really enjoy each contest. Try something new, set a new goal, connect (during the contest) with different people in the club (or my team). I’m looking for the events in each contest that make radio contesting so much fun!

This weekend we experienced some incredible conditions….and some not so good conditions. When conditions were great, I was working EU stations on 40m with low power. Fun! When conditions weren’t great, there was still fun. The TF calling me on 10 meters and he sounded like 2 meter aurora. The ZS who called me on 40 meters late in the contest. This stuff doesn’t usually happen to me. It sure made it fun! What made it fun for you?

MWA really did a great job in this contest. Our claimed club score was 23,404,933 points, up 20.05% over last year!! Great job everyone! Every category had some great scores from within MWA. Great efforts equal great scores!

Team 3 pulled off the victory, lead by scores from N0AV, N0AT and WA0MHJ. Congrats to Team 3. The team scores were:

  • Team 3 – 7,837,128 Points – 5 Pts
  • Team 5 – 5,717,224 Points – 4 Pts
  • Team 4 – 3,490,594 Points – 3 Pts
  • Team 2 – 3,395,439 Points – 2 Pts
  • Team 1 – 2,964,548 Points – 1 Pt

After 14 events, the top spot is firming up.  Team 5 looks like they could be the 2025-2026 champs!  Week after week, they continue to build a lead.  Here are the results with three events to go:

  • Team 5 – 59 Points
  • Team 4 – 52 Points
  • Team 3 – 47 Points
  • Team 2 – 28 Points
  • Team 1 – 24 Points

As a side note, there are 15 stations who still have a perfect record and are still in the qualification for the Get A Life Award!  Wow!

There are many MWA’ers who have qualified for the various levels of our scoring awards! We’ll have a lot of awards to hand out next fall! Here are the numbers for how many stations have qualified for each level:

  • 1 Million Points – 25 Stations
  • 2 Million Points – 7 Stations
  • 3 Million Points – 8 Stations
  • 4 Million Points – 4 Stations
  • 5 Million Points – 2 Stations
  • 6 Million Points – 2 Stations
  • 8 Million Points – 2 Stations

This weekend is the South Carolina and North Carolina QSO Parties. Remember all those SC stations that worked us in MNQP? Let’s pay them back!
