Club Competition Update

ARRL Sweeps Phone is now behind us and the weekend produced some very good high-band conditions and some really nice scores. A shout-out to Dan, W0CN. Dan traveled to Hawaii to operate the WH7Z station. While Dan’s score doesn’t help the MWA score (due to being outside the club circle), Dan’s 1,600+ QSO’s should land him firmly in the Top Ten high power scores! Congrats Dan!

Based on scores submitted so far, the MWA club score looks to be 2,802,856 points, down 7.58% from last year.

In the Team Competition, Team 4 proved they are the Sweepstakes team! SS Phone was Team 4’s second victory of the year, the other being Sweepstakes CW! Here is how the teams scored:

  • Team 4 – 757,838 Points (5 Pts) – 9 active stations
  • Team 5 – 581,370 Points (4 Pts) – 14 active stations
  • Team 3 – 576,464 Points (3 Pts) – 14 active stations
  • Team 2 – 469,284 Points (2 Pts) – 13 active stations
  • Team 1 – 417,900 Points (1 Pt) – 11 active stations
  • TOTAL MWA – 2,802,856 points, down 7.58% from last year

In the Team standings, Team 5 continues to lead. Team 5 has been ranked #1 or #2 each week, mostly due to activity levels. Team 4 is right on their heels and Team 3 is coming on strong. Here are the standings:

  • Team 5 – 22 Points
  • Team 4 – 20 Points
  • Team 3 – 15 Points
  • Team 2 – 11 Points
  • Team 1 – 7 Points

Our next contest is the CQWW DX CW Contest. This is the biggest contest of the year and conditions look like they could be incredible. Get your antennas tuned up and the coffee pot plugged in! Let’s get ready to rumble!!
