We’re almost at the halfway point of our contest season. Time for a short winter holiday break. but first…….
The ARRL 10 Meter Contest is traditionally one of our most popular contests. As a club, the turnout is usually second only to the Minnesota QSO Party. This year we had 86 stations take to the airwaves (61% of our club!). Stations battled the up-and-down conditions and enjoyed the challenges of being near the peak of the solar cycle.
A couple special mentions:
1) Denny, KØTT, made 1,883 QSO’s and 247 mults for a score of 1.3 million points! He blew us all away! Looks like Denny is currently #6 in the US!! Congrats Denny!
2) Do you want your team to win the weekly competition? You need to get people on the air AND you need them to keep their butt in the chair. Team 5 had 85% of their team on the air and 11 team members scored a six-digit score! Team 3 had 64% of the team active and ten of their team scored six-digits (or more!)! Great efforts!
Team 3, lead by KØTT, blew us all away! A great score by their entire team lead them to the five points. Here are the team scores:
- Team 3 – 4,598,830 Points – 5 Pts – 18 active (64% of the team)
- Team 5 – 2,865,864 Points – 4 Pts – 23 active (85% of the team)
- Team 4 – 1,930,610 Points – 3 Pts – 15 active (52% of the team)
- Team 1 – 1,849,918 Points – 2 Pts – 13 active (46% of the team)
- Team 2 – 1,336,162 Points – 1 Pt – 17 active (61% of the team)
- TOTAL MWA – 12,581,384 Points – 86 active (61% of the club)
We’re eight events into the season with nine more contests to come. No team is out of the running for the Club Championship. There is a LOT of competing still to come! Here are the results in the Team Competition:
- Team 5 – 33 Points
- Team 4 – 32 Points
- Team 3 – 28 Points
- Team 2 – 15 Points
- Team 1 – 12 Points
Now it’s time for a rest. Take a couple weeks to enjoy the holidays, family, friends…..and not worry about QSO rates and mults!
