Rover comments:
I will be running the same route as last year, but with a different callsign. Setup is 4 Hustler antennas on a 1995 Chevy Suburban.
I will have the luxury of CW filters for the first time ever, as I upgraded to a Yaesu FT-450AT, Heil Traveler, and a Dell Latitude running
N3FJP software. 20,40,80 CW, and 40-SSB will be my bands. Just as last year, I plan to be enjoying the view of the north woods while soaking
in an outdoor hot tub right after the contest. It is a great way to unwind from the contest. I hope to work you! Mark WA0MHJ
The 2009 County route:
Anoka, Isanti, Sherburne, Mille Lacs, Benton, Morrison, Todd, Stearns, Pope, Douglas, Grant, Ottertail, Wilkin, Clay, Norman, Polk,
Red Lake, Polk(#2), Mahnomen, Polk(#3), Clearwater, Beltrami, Hubbard, Cass, Itasca.

Rover comments:
Another update has been posted to: http://tinyurl.com/a27mbk This includes the "Wright Team" operating
from 5 counties in southern Minnesota. That will be dad, KØMD driving and Sara (WØSMW) running stations on SSB. This could be some
serious competition for you other guys... as you know, a YL's voice typically adds 10 dB to the signal and doubles the run rates!
They will be spending about 2 hours in each county.
The 2009 County route:
Olmsted, Winona, Houston, Fillmore, Mower.

Rover comments:
Pat KØPC and John W9DND will be out again this year. We will follow the same route as last year. It seemed
to work well and was the first time in five years that we actually finished the entire route. Every year we learn something new and I'm sure
this year will be no exception. The vehicle is a 2008 Honda Accord and we will be running an IC-7000 to a HiQ 4-80 antenna.
The logging is done on an old IBM laptop using WriteLog. We look forward to another fun ride!
The 2009 County route:
Le Sueur, Sibley, Nicollet, Brown, Redwood, Cottonwood, Murray, Lyon, Lincoln, Pipestone, Rock, Nobles, Jackson,
Martin, Watonwan, Blue Earth, Fairbault, Freeborn, Waseca, Steele, & Rice.

We plan on running up to Aitkin cty and back. Rig will be Icom IC 706MKIIG to Multi band mobile or windom ant
when parked. We are planning on running ac power via a small generator on the back of the van. We'll have pix of the setup later. We'll
stop to eat somewhere along the route but plan on operating while we eat. Good luck to all. To all rovers, please drive safely. Charlie K0SV
The 2009 County route:
Stearns, Benton, Morrison, Crow Wing, Mille Lacs, Aitkin, Mille Lacs, Crow Wing, Morrison, Benton.

Rover comments:
This is the first time we’ll be together as a rover team. Tom, K3WT will have the honors at the CW key while
Dave, N0KBD will be manning the microphone. We have some non-resonant hamsticks for our three target bands: 80, 40 and 20 with most of
the activity being planned on 40 and 20 since those are the bands with the lowest SWR. The rig is a Kenwood TS-2000 barefoot and the
logging will be done with WriteLog. Follow us on APRS using N0KBD-9. So far, we’ve learned one major lesson…tuning antennas and single
digit temperatures make for an interesting combination. Folklore says that antennas work best when installed in the cold weather…well
don’t believe it. Next year: station assembly will take place in the balmy summer months. We’re looking forward to working you in the
MNQP…73, Dave and Tom
The 2009 County route:
Dakota, Goodhue, Wabasha, Winona, Houston, Fillmore, Olmsted, Mower, Olmsted (#2), Dodge, Steele, Waseca, Le Sueur, Rice, Scott and finally Dakota again.

Rover comments:
Greetings from the road! Here is a photo of my (very dirty) van, otherwise known as the Woolly Mammoth. Inside is a Kenwood TS480HX with a Turbo-Tuner and a Heil PSQP5 head set. Pictured outside is a Hi-Q 5/160 antenna. The Hi-Q is hitch mounted for travel, and this year I will be trying a new roof mount for non-mobile operations. The mobile shack is 20m-160m capable and tunes up 1.2:1 or less on all bands. I'll be running as a single op. Last year my route was cut short in Cook County by a bad fuel pump. Hoping for better luck with the vehicle this year and to catch a QSO with you! 73!
The 2009 County route:
I'll be roving four counties on SSB only. Starting in Cook, then Lake, St. Louis and ending in Carlton. Watch for me squawking KCØMKS-9 on APRS.

NØPI
County Route Map
Current APRS Location
Rover comments:
The NØPI/KØAD team will be trying a different route year. Focus on some of the western counties.
We should be spending at least 30 minutes in the western counties, more time to work stations that want the counties, and they
are just a bit bigger out west so it takes some time to drive through.
After last years success, we will again be running mobile unlimited, two HF stations from one vehicle.
Al (KØAD) will be running the CW station from the back seat, using an Icom 746 via a DuneStar band pass filter to a SG-230
antenna coupler connected to a SG-303 antenna. Daniel (NØPI) will be on 20 phone using his trusty Atlas-210X via a 20 meter
band pass filter to a MFJ stick, 14.270 and up. The vehicle is a 2003 Chevy crew cab diesel pickup, second alternator and deep
cycle batteries providing power to radios and laptop.
The 2009 County route:
Hennepin, Wright, Meeker, Kandiyohi, Stearns, Pope, Douglas, Grant, Stevens, Traverse, Big Stone,
Swift, Chippewa, Lac Qui Parle, Yellow Medicine, Lyon, Redwood, Renville, Sibley, McLeod, and Carver.

Here is a picture of me and Paul with our "Secret weapon" from last year. We mounted the 40 meter Vesto
antenna on top of my jeep. It was tough going under the overpasses!
I think we have a route planned: Some new, some old. My long time partner, N9BCA feels up to the trip
this year, but our lodging with his grandson in St Paul isn't going to work this year, so we are going to motel it near Lacrosse
and hit a few new counties to start out the day. Here is our route (pretty much in order):
The 2009 County route:
Houston, Winona, Fillmore, Olmsted, Mower, Freeborn, Dodge, Steele, Faribault, Martin,
Blue Earth, Watowan, Brown, Nicollet, Sibley, Renville, Mcleod, Wright, Meeker, Stearns,
Sherburne, Benton, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Pine, Isanti, Chisago.

Rover comments:
Hello all. Assuming that I don't head somewhere else to fill in a rare cty or two, here is my planned route for the MnQP. I plan to be active on 20, 40, and 80m CW only and will be sending APRS as W0ZQ-15 with the "rover" (puppy) symbol. I will be watching 15m over the next month to see if we may have some propagation midday, might be some good mults available if we have some propagation, but right now its not looking too promising.
The 2009 County route:
Carver, Sibley, Scott, Le Sueur, Nicollet, Blue Earth, Waseca, Steele, Rice, Goodhue, and Dodge.
